I have enjoyed photography for most of my life,  although for many years I worked in a clerical position for a large cooperation, mainly only photographing events, retirements and family.

Even through those years, it seemed my camera and I were partners.  People would say, “Oh here is Davina and her camera”.  Later they would ask for copies from my large photo supply.  I have also heard many times, “We should have known you’d get more involved with photography when you got out from behind your desk".  Well, they were right, I love photography and am passionate about quite a variety of areas.

I took a couple photography courses at the local college.  My instructor, Ken Pugh, noticed a talent and asked if I’d be interested in apprenticing with him doing wedding photography.  I was thrilled to have the opportunity to be trained by a great teacher and very experienced wedding photographer.  After 2 or 3 weddings, we were being asked how many years we have worked together.  It seemed very natural for me and an area I could excel in. 

Another area where I specialize, is families, children, infants and graduates, as I enjoy people, including the little ones with all their expressions.  Locating a suitable casual background certainly adds interest to the photographs.

Capturing animals in nature is intriguing for me, especially if you can get any expression of their faces.  I feel very fortunate to live in the Fraser Valley area of B.C., where we have so many kinds of birds and animals along with beautiful landscapes all around us, including the changing seasons.
